Swimming Pools ‘A Dream Feature’ For UK Homeowners

A survey to find out what features people would love to have in their gardens has revealed that swimming pools are near the top of the list, along with summer houses and vegetable patches.

Shiny Shiny shared the findings of the survey conducted by Onduline, which highlighted the top features that Brits would like in their dream outdoor space, as well as the overall aesthetic they would go for.

For instance, 48 per cent of those questioned said that they would want their garden to be colourful, while 45 per cent stated that they would want it to be inviting.

Paul Duffy, managing director of Onduline, commented: “What was particularly interesting from the research was seeing how much time people spend in their gardens and outdoor buildings and therefore want it to be the perfect space, whether for entertaining, working out or relaxing.”

The top garden feature among those surveyed was “lots of plants”, followed by a vegetable or fruit patch, summerhouse, water feature and bird feeder. A swimming pool snuck in at number ten on the list, with a shed and sun loungers among the other features to make it into the top ten.
